Starting from the results achieved with KE60 Mark III in 2022, we scheduled a roadmap that referred to the industrialization of a new generator called K100.
ABOUT
The K100 is an automatic machine designed to work in a cluster of machines and guarantee continuous output power. The modularity of the system allows us to meet the client’s requirements in terms of installation space and nominal power.
Like KE60 Mark III, the K100 features an on-ground electric generation and an automatic flight segment optimized for lasting and being robust.
The operation is divided into two steps. A generation phase where the tether transfers the aerodynamic lift of the kite to a rotating drum at ground level and transforms the drum’s rotary motion into electric energy. During this phase, the kite gains altitude and unwinds the tether. The second step is the recovery of the tether after having reached the maximum altitude. During this phase, the machine consumes a small amount of energy that is minimised through active and automatic control of the kite. Once completely retrieved, the Kite enters a new cycle. The cycle’s net energy is the algebraic sum of the generated and the consumed energy
